ROLLER POST® must be mounted so that the boat's rub rail contacts
the roller along its entire side from the bow to its stern. Fig.

ROLLER POSTt® brackets are designed to be mounted with the roller
protruding into the slip only 1-1/4 inches. Fig. 2
Generally, mounting the ROLLER POST® as close to the water as possible
will accommodate most rub rail heights. However, in some cases the
ROLLER POST® may need to be positioned slightly higher.
Note: ROLLER POST® will fit square or rectangular dock posts.
Some docks may require shimming of the brackets to maintain proper vertical
alignment. In these situations it may be necessary to use longer lag
bolts, which can be purchased at your local hardware store. Stainless
steel is recommended.
Step 1.
With the boat moored in its slip, measure the highest and lowest point
of the boat's rub rail and mark these heights on the dock post. Note:
Brackets are marked A and B. Bracket A is used
at the top of the dock post on the port side, or the bottom of the dock
post on the starboard side. Fig. 1
Step 2.
Make sure the ROLLER POSTt® will be positioned between the
points you marked on the dock post. Position and hold the lower bracket
to the lower section of the dock post with the roller pin facing up.
Important: (Allow several inches below the lowest marked point to
compensate for a fully loaded boat.) With a pencil carefully mark
the position of the holes in the bracket on to the dock post and drill
(3) 1/4" pilot holes approximately 1 -1/2" deep. Mount lower
bracket to the dock post using 3/8" x 2" stainless steel lag
bolts and washers supplied. Fig. 3
Step 3.
Place the roller on to the lower bracket roller pin. Next, insert the
roller pin of the upper bracket into the roller while positioning the
bracket on the dock post. Be sure to leave a 1 /8 to 3/16 inch gap between
the roller pin bracket and the roller. Fig. 4 (This gap is necessary
to allow for expansion and contraction) With a pencil carefully
mark the position of the holes in the bracket on to the dock post and
drill (3) 1/4" pilot holes approximately 1-1/2" deep. Finish
installation by mounting upper bracket to dock post using 3/8"
x 2" stainless steel lag bolts and washers supplied. Fig. 3
